Many developing countries receive wheelchair donations from abroad, but once broken they can’t be repaired due to high costs of spare parts. Situated in Rwanda, the Kigali Chair Project helps hospitals and patients to repair broken wheelchairs or build self made ones from scrap. Based on a simple construction system, the project wants to assure that every patient knows how to fix his own wheelchair by himself - just in case.
