Thailand based packaging company Universal BioPack took over a patent from Kasetsart University in 1998 in order to develop a 100% natural biodegradable food packaging. The raw material is set to have a foam-like structure made from starch and natural fibers, which then can be molded into various shapes and sizes with multi-purpose application. In 2010 “UBPack” started to operate globally and expanded its product range beyond food packaging.
