Berlin-based sustainable startup Arekapak offers natural, non-toxic packaging solutions made from areca palm leaves, a natural raw material that is generated as agricultural waste in India. Arekapak’s 100% natural snack boxes are pollutant-free, completely compostable and come with lockable lids. The material is inherently liquid-resistant for several hours without any additional coating, oven-proof and microwaveable as well as cool and freezer safe. Arekapak's production requires little water or energy and supports local communities by closely working together with local manufacturers near the palm plantations.
