Canadian-based company Bosk develops and manufactures "REGEN", a GMO-free and non-toxic granulate of 100% bio-based and compostable PHA-based compounds made from untapped by-products of the pulp and paper industry. The key to “REGEN” is their “FlexCarbon” bio-fermentation technology which makes it possible to manufacture PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoates, a compostable biopolymer) from untapped industrial carbon sources, such as pulp and paper sludge. Compatible with conventional manufacturing equipment, “REGEN” offers competitive cycle times and displays excellent mechanical and physical properties, comparable to traditional polyolefin (petroleum-based) resins. The pellets are available in different grades and colors. It is are suitable for a wide range of applications like injection molding, thermoforming, 3D printing or extrusion blow molding and obtains compostability certification for end products up to 3mm thick.
