Romanian designer Alexandra Sipa creates luxury textiles from discarded electrical wires. The same name brand has already become synonymous with an innovative handmade wire lace technique developed by Alexandra Sipa through a sustainable hybrid lacemaking practice that uses electrical wires. By reusing e-waste materials, Alexandra Sipa aims to bring awareness to the issue of the fast growing electronic waste problem. “The designer believes that fashion needs to become more sustainable from the inside out, not only through the materials used, but also ethically in the treatment and compensation of everyone involved in the supply and design chain.”
