Compostable packaging is emerging as a promising solution to address the environmental crisis caused by non-degradable plastics. Unlike traditional plastic packaging that lingers indefinitely in the environment, compostable alternatives generate zero waste. When disposed of in composting conditions, they decompose into nutrient-rich compost, which aids in soil improvement, boosts crop yields, and contributes to carbon dioxide sequestration, thus combating climate change. However, despite their significant environmental advantages, several prevalent misconceptions have clouded the understanding of compostable packaging.
