French artist Edouard Martinet creates extraordinary sculptures made from scrap of all sorts of machinery and everyday objects, such as rusted pans, typewriters keys, car headlights, bike brakes, vintage watch cases, spectacle arms etc. His work reveals most delicate creatures and insects with all their subtleties in the minutest details. It takes him months, even years to find the right component for one of his pieces. Martinet doesn’t solder or weld, instead he assembles all his sculptures by painstakingly screwing them together, “which imbues them with character, grace and life.”
